Now that the 2012 is upon us, it is time to think of taxes and rent/property rebates for 2011.
AARP will again be doing taxes for seniors who file a simple return. Please keep checking the newsletter for dates they will be at the center. Now is the time to start getting your information together, such as all your W2 forms from social security, pensions or any job that you had during 2011. Also, all your assets, such as bank statements, IRA statements and any stocks or bonds that you have. If you own property, your paid tax receipts for school, county and township or municipality. If you won the lottery and received something from them for taxes please bring that also.
The above information is also needed for the 2011 rent/property rebate program. This program does not begin until sometime in February. If you filed last year, you should receive a booklet in the mail. If you do not receive a booklet, call 1-888-222-9190. We will not receive any information at the center until February.
